Escape Your Grave

Escape your Grave is a 2D Doodle Jump like game about a soul that tries to run from death. The game itself is finished and will no longer receive any changes or updates. It was created using the Unity Engine, and textures were drawn by me in GIMP 2.8. For this project I mainly focused on completing my first game, so I wanted to keep it small and simple. The main challenge was to create with no game development experience before.

Story

We play a nameless soul trying not to be dragged out of life, running away from certain death. In the end, death will try to catch up to you in the form of a blue, misshapen wall if you exceed the 300 unit mark. This wall represents the inevitability of death and gets faster and faster the further you go, until the right balance between choosing the safe path and the path that avoids the ever-approaching doom becomes a struggle of risk and skill.

Mission

I was just looking for "Doodle Jump" and my goal was to change the game mechanics without fundamentally changing the idea of the 2D platformer.
